Preparation period: (1979 to 1982)
In July 1981, "Provincial Zhubei Senior High School" was officially established, with Lian Tiancai assuming office as its first principal. The school offers a blend of academic and vocational education, encompassing subjects in academics, computer science, and business management. Its motto, "precision, sincerity, versatility, and elegance," guides the school's ethos and educational philosophy.
Growth period: (1982 to 1989)
In 1982, the school began admitting students with outstanding athletic abilities. The following year, in 1983, classes for dancers were introduced. From 1984 onward, the school expanded significantly, adding 18 new classes each year. By 1986, the total number of classes reached 54.
In 1985, the school initiated a trial of comprehensive high school experimental courses. This initiative aimed to offer computer science, business, and economics courses, originally designed for academically-oriented students, thereby allowing students with diverse interests to choose majors based on their aptitudes.
In 1987, the school established a Comprehensive High School Teaching Resource Center and hosted an international symposium on campus.
Innovation period: (1989 to 1995)
In 1989, the school underwent a name change to "National Zhubei Senior High School." Following the retirement of the previous principal, Kuang Gefei, the academic director of National Qingshui High School, was appointed by the Ministry of Education as the new principal.
Principal Kuang placed a strong emphasis on cultivating students' humanistic qualities and fostering an international perspective. In 1990, under his leadership, the school established its first drill team in Zhumiao District. Through dedicated efforts of both teachers and students, the Computer Science and Business Administration departments achieved top rankings nationwide. Academic students also excelled, embodying a new era of diversity, self-confidence, innovation, vitality, and internationalization at Chupei Senior High School.
Deep cultivation period: (1995 to 2012)
In 1995, Principal Kuang was reassigned to Taoyuan High School, and Dr. Zhou Shuoliang, formerly Director of Student Affairs at Taoyuan Agriculture and Industry School, assumed the role of the school's third principal. Under his leadership, Dr. Zhou emphasized the core values of "deep practice, extensive reading, and good morality," guiding Zhubei students towards a path of academic excellence and ethical conduct. He organized numerous high-quality activities to bolster students' competitiveness.
In 1997, the school introduced a special education department dedicated to supporting local disadvantaged students.
Transition period: (2012 to 2019)
Principal Zhou retired in 2012, and Tu Zhongchi, who had previously served as Principal of Kansai High School and held extensive experience in teaching and administration, succeeded him as the fourth principal of the school. Principal Tu had a longstanding association with the school, further enriching his leadership.
Under Principal Tu's guidance, the high school underwent a successful transition to an academic-focused institution in 2012. He introduced a new approach during student assemblies, encouraging students to begin proceedings with quiet meditation and deep breaths rather than the traditional use of a disciplinarian's loud voice through a microphone. This innovative approach effectively transformed the atmosphere of the student assemblies.
Exquisite period: (2019 ~)
In August 2018, President Tu returned to Kansai High School, and Chen Ruirong, formerly the library director at Ruifang Vocational School, assumed the role of the fifth principal of our school. Principal Chen brings a wealth of educational experience to the position.
In response to the national 108 new curriculum project, Principal Chen initiated several initiatives. He established Zhumiao District's first bilingual education experimental class, advancing international education 2.0 and enhancing digital learning programs. Additionally, Principal Chen oversaw the renovation of specialty classrooms such as the Madame Curie classroom, as well as improvements to more than ten other specialized facilities including the library, playground track, and gymnasium floor.
Principal Chen's educational philosophy emphasizes "teaching the person first, then teaching knowledge." He prioritizes the development of students' character, integrity, and global and local perspectives, aiming to create an environment conducive to effective learning and character building. Under his leadership, student performance has notably improved. Moreover, the school's affiliation with NYCU promises to further enhance the learning environment and expand opportunities for students.
